How does it work?
The melanin in the hair absorbs the light emitted and is heated to a temperature that permanently inhibits the hair’s growth.

Unwanted hair can be removed from all parts of the body including legs, upper lip, bikini line, underarm, back and chest.

Research shows that intense pulsed light (IPL) in variable wavelengths produce better results than the laser units originally available. Pulsed light units emit light across a broad range of wavelengths that are preferentially absorbed by the melanin in the hair.

The Energist Ultra I designed so that each shot of light comprises a sequence of rapid shorter pulses. These variable pulses ensure a more controlled absorption by the appropriate structures whilst minimising heating of the surrounding area. This means that a greater ranger of hair and skin types can be safely and effectively treated than was previously possible.

Treatment Process
After a full consultation with our medical staff the area to be treated is cleaned and shaved before the conductive gel and applicator is applied to the skin. Due to the large applicator head, the treatment can be performed quickly, which we know is important with today’s hectic lifestyle.

Is there anything I need to do prior to, or after treatment?
It is advisable to stay out of the sun, and away from tanning beds for at least 4 weeks prior to any treatment.
It is also recommended to stay out of the sun after treatment as the skin can become more sensitive during treatment period.

When will I see results?
Depending upon the treated area, results will be noticed after a series of treatments over a period of months. Generally treatments are 4 to 6 weeks apart in line with the body’s natural hair growth cycle.
Typically within 3 to 10 treatments are need to obtain the results you desire.

IPL:
For treatment of pigmentation, age spots, fine wrinkles, broken capillaries.
Multiple treatments are required varying on the condition of the skin. A thorough assessment by our medical staff will give you an indication of sessions required.

Photodynamic Therapy:
Topical Aminoevulinic Acid (ALA) IPL:
For treatment of pigmentation, wrinkles, sun cancers, pores, acne.
Using ALA on the skin prior to the IPL will result in the removal of many skin conditions plus rejuvenation of the entire skin at the same time. Therefore this treatment has both cosmetic and therapeutic benefit.
Sunspots, pigments and pre-cancerous lesions fade or disappear.
Wrinkles are finer
